Students will write a memoir of their journey. This WebQuest is a writing project designed by an 11th grade English teacher.
Introduction
Congratulations! You and three other foreign students have
won an all-expense-paid scholarship to come to the United States for one month
to experience and gain an appreciation of our great country. A plane will take
you to a city of your choosing along the United States’ east coast where you
will meet up with your group mates. From there, your group will have one month
to freely travel throughout America to visit significant sites and cities. The
route you take, the places you visit, and how you travel, will be for the most
part up to you and your group mates, so long as you end Los Angeles one month
later. The only obligations on your part are that you keep a journal of your
experiences, do a little research, write a postcard, and give a picture
presentation of your travels to your peers in your home country. Read the
