Okay, now that all of your coaches have selected which role they want to play in this very important project, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get started.  Find the coaching duty you have signed up for below and follow each step in order to make your presentation one that insure the US Olympic committee will select your coaching staff.


Head Coach (HC):  As the head coach, you have a lot of responsibilities, but you are absolutely the right person for this important job!  Review the bullet points below and use them as a “check list” to make sure you are leading your coaching staff to make a strong impression with the presentation.

Help your TCFC download the PowerPoint template, and assist them in completing this important document.  Volleyball PowerPoint Template

 

·       Review the “Evaluation” rubric for this webquest and make sure you are doing everything you can to earn a high score on this project.

·       You are responsible for the slides pertaining to history of volleyball and interesting facts about volleyball.  Review the links below to find the information you want to include in the PowerPoint.

·       Check in with the OC and DC to see if they need any help and to approve their slides.

·       Work closely with the TCFC to finish the PowerPoint.

·       Strategize with your coaching staff for the presentation where you will stand up in front of the class and present your PowerPoint.

Offensive Coach (OC): As the offensive coach, your job is to identify key teaching cues for fundamental offensive skills AND describe the offensive strategies your coaching staff will deploy during the Olympics.  Answer all of the prompts below and give your responses to your TCFC (technology coach).

1.     How do you perform an offensive set? Volleyball Set

4.     Find (1) image of each of the above skills and include it in the PowerPoint.

Technology Coordinator and Fitness Coach (TCFC):  Okay TCFC, here is a friendly tip:  download the PowerPoint now, and as your other coaches find the information you will need for the presentation you can add it directly to the PowerPoint as you go.  This saves you time and a big fat headache with you scrambling around towards the end of the project trying to get everything in on time. 

You can multi-task:  work on the fitness planning and when information comes in from your other coaches, you can take a time out and add the information to your PowerPoint.

Step 1:  Download the United States Olympic PowerPoint presentation.

Step 2: Instruct your coaching team to give you the information from their assigned duties as soon as they get it, so you can keep up with your PowerPoint.

Step 3:  While you are waiting for your coaching staff to get you information for the PowerPoint, start working on the fitness plan.  Visit the websites below to help you answer these prompts:

4.     Clearly describe (1) of each of these exercises:  cardio, leg strength for higher jumping, abdominal strength, upper body strength, and flexibility.

Step 5: Add your content for physical fitness training and coaches content to complete the team’s PowerPoint.  Make sure the HC reviews and approves the final project.
