Students will research the European "Age of Exploration" from two perspectives,the Native American experience the European explorer experience. Students will then compare, contrast, and analyze these perspectives and cultures through a collaborative assignment. Students will create journal entries, letters, and cultural profiles of natives and explorers. Lastly, students will evaluate why the Age of Exploration can be considered an Age of Invasion depending on perspective.

Teacher Introduction

This WebQuest assignment was designed to help both teachers and students understand the experiences and perspectives of European explorers and native populations.  This a fun and interactive process in which students will be forced to think critically and creatively! Throughout the assignment, students will be practicing their research skills, ability to work cooperatively, and think reflectively.  The activity helps students explore past the textbook and typical materials used in the classroom!
