Introduction
You and your classmates work for a company called CARES (Conservartion And Renewable Energy Specialists), Incorporated. You have just received a letter from Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation that would like to contract your services to perform a feasibility study. To view the letter, click on the Text link on the navigation bar.
You will be working on a team of 2 people to study one of six different alternatives to fossil fuels. Your team will research the alternative energy source from scientific, environmental, economic, and sociological viewpoints, and your team will have an expert for each of these areas. Fortunately, CARES also has a library archive division that has collected an extensive (but not exhaustive) list of Internet resources that may be useful. Click on the Process link to find information about the responsibilities for each one of these experts and Internet resources.
Your supervisor at CARES, Inc. will be evaluating your performance on this task as part of your annual wage review. In order to get a good raise, you will need to perform at a high level. You can find the criteria for evaluation by clicking on the Evaluation link.
When you've finished the task, click on the Conclusion link to find an overview of what you've accomplished and skills you have developed.
For this simulation, your teacher will act as your supervisor. The Teachers link will take you to a matrix of pages that your teacher can use to facilitate the WebQuest process.
