This webquest is based on the following: It is designed to help students learn more about the concept of heroism and analyze what makes someone a hero. Many people in history are presented as historical figures, without allowing the students to debate and decide for themselves whether or not the person's life and actions warrant "hero" status. This lesson allows students to analyze, synthesize and evaluate the lives of some famous and not-so-famous individuals in history.

In this task you will embark on a journey to discover the truth behind the lives of some famous Americans.  Were they heroes?  You and your team will decide, and present your findings to the class.  So get ready!
