Process

You will work in groups of 3 or 4 students to complete your project. Remember, that groups who work well together: listen to all ideas, practice good manners, share the work, and show respect towards each other.

You will create a trifold poster that contains three sections that answer the following questions:

                        1. What does it mean to reduce, reuse, and recycle?

                        2. What can we do at home, at school, and in the community to reduce, reuse and                               recycle?

                        3. Why it is important to reduce waste?

Use this worksheet to record your findings and take notes to make your poster.

Section One:Find out about the 3R's. Make sure you take notes on what you want to include on your poster! This section of your poster should clearly define the 3R's (reduce, reuse, recycle).

Section Two: Search for and discover ideas on how to practice the 3R's at home, at school, and in the community. You and your group should think of at least 3 different ideas for home, school, and community.

Click here to find ideas on how to use the 3R's in the community.

Section Three: What are the benefits to using the 3R's. You should provide at least five benefits.

Now you and your group should have enough information to make a poster and presentation about reducing waste, reusing, and recycling in the community. Good luck!
