The handcart was one of many modes of transportation used by the pioneers when traveling to the Great Salt Lake Vally. The students will listen to stories, construct a paper model of a handcart and learn a handcart song.

What would it have been like to be a Pioneer? Could you have walked as far as they did? Or pushed a handcart all the way to Salt Lake City? What kind of games do you think they played? Where did they sleep at night? These are just some of the questions that you will get to find out the answers to!
