This WebQuest is an activity for upper-level secondary education students studying humanites and social sciences. This excercise will have students working together in groups and present information about one of the following art movements: Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Expressionism, and Cubism. They will research these different art movements, their characteristics and their time periods and present it to the rest of the class. The students will become historians and each group will specialize in a different art movement. Their job will be to give a lecture to the rest of the historians educating them in other art movements.

Introduction

You are about to become art historians.  Your job will be to join a group specializing in one of the following art movements; Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Post Impressionism, Expressionism, Cubism and become experts in that particular movement.  Each group of art historians will be required to prepare and deliver a full presentation including both visual and oral components. This will aide in educating the other historians in your specific area of expertise.
