This webquest, "There is No One Alive Who is Youer Than You," is an introduction to genetics and heredity for fourth grade students. After completeing the webquest, students will know what a gene is, how we inherit genes from our parents, and how to tell the difference between inherited traits and learned traits (nature vs. nurture).

In his book Happy Birthday to You, Dr. Seuss says, "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

Even though Dr. Seuss is usually very silly, he is absolutely right! Have you ever sat at the dinner table for a big family gathering and wondered why your nose looks suspiciously like your dad and your grandpa's nose? Or maybe you have green eyes just like your grandma! Do you want to know why you look like your family members? I'll give you a hint, its all in your genes!
