Before you get started on working on the trailer for your "movie", here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Think of where your trailer will air. If it's on TV it needs to be pretty short since it is the length of a commercial (about 30 seconds). If your trailer is going to be shown in theatres it can be a bit longer (up to 3 minutes).
- A movie trailer is meant to capture the attention of the audience and make people want to go out and see it. What are you going to do in your movie trailer that will make people want to pay money to go see it?
- You should include: the title of your movie, the main characters in your movie, and why your movie is so interesting that people should spend money on it.
- Remember: your movie is supposed to show the Hero's Journey, so when thinking of scenes to include in your movie make sure that you are including scenes that relate back to the Hero's Journey.
- Spend some time on-line looking at different movie trailers to get an idea of what yours could look like.
