This WebQuest asks students to explore the life and times of William Shakespeare. It is a look into the theatre of the day and the historical significance of the Elizabethan era in terms of how we view his work. The importance of creative process is emphasized here as Shakespeare is a dramatic medium. Students must perform the data they have analyzed in some fashion.

Introduction

We are about to begin reading Macbeth by William Shakespeare.  But do you really have a good grasp of what life was like when he was alive?  What kinds of things did he write? What was theatre like?  What did people do then?  We're going to use the web to delve more deeply into the life and times of William Shakespeare as we prepare to read his play, Macbeth.
