This problem-based learning unit focuses on how students can improve their community. A persuasive project, it includes research, an oral presentation, and an opportunity for students to present their plan of action to local community leaders.
Have you ever looked around your community and wondered how things get done or how new ideas get started? Have you ever thought that you could make a difference? What would you do if you were in charge? Maybe you thought, "I'm just a middle school kid. What can I do? Who would listen to me?"
Well, this is an opportunity for you to showcase your ideas, your passions, your dreams - to lay it all on the table, to show what you know and what you are capable of, to make a difference. So, give it your best shot. Who knows what you might accomplish; the sky's the limit!
