Teacher Introduction
This Web Quest is designed to accompany the Peace Corps Challenge Game, giving students opportunities to learn about the global issue of water contamination and lack of sanitation around the world. By participating in this Web Quest, students will view videos, slideshows, and read narratives to gain a better understanding of the issue. Students will articulate why it is important to have access to clean water, to conserve water, to understand where water comes from, and how to help others gain access to clean water, and how to have access to clean water themselves.
Students will then play the role of a Peace Corps Volunteer by playing the Peace Corps Challenge game. Through the game, students will be introduced to concepts such as: understanding the perspectives of others, problem solving, interpreting cultural differences, the importance of compromise, and considering community input.
