You must find out as much as you can about your captain using library books, the social studies textbook, and the web links provided. Answer the following questions:
- What country and continent did your explorer come from?
- When did he explore?
- Where did he go and what route did he take to get there?
- Who sponsored him?
- What were they hoping to find?
- What did they find?
Using what you have learned send home:
- A map of your explorer's voyage.
- A time line of the major events that occurred during the explorer's life.
- A“Sailor's Journal” describing the journey and the new land.
