Teacher Process
This WebQuest should take about three to four weeks. This will give your students ample time to research and write their biographical essays on the four inventors that were chosen as well as time to create their presentations.
Start of with creating groups of four students. You can let the children pick their groups or you can use a variety of methods to create groups.
Have each of the students research at least 5 different inventors. This will take a week to do.
After each student has researched the 5 inventors they need to get together as a group and come up with criteria that will be used to find four inventors from their list.
Each member of the group will read 5 different informtion sheets and narrow their list of invnetors to 10 total. After that the group will choose the four ultimate inventors they will use for their exhbit.
Once they are chosen, each member will write a biographical essay for one inventor.
After the essays are written they will begin their PowerPoint presentation.
The presentation needs to have at least 10 slides that have a theme and a design scheme. The slides need to include graphics as well as written portions.
The written portions should inculde the following:
- A brief description of each inventor
- A brief description of their invention
- Why each inventor was chosen for this exhibit and,
- Why should the museum curators choose their exhibit design.
The groups can present their PowerPoint presentations to the class as a culmination of the WebQuest.
