Chapter 112. Science 

Subchapter B. Middle School 

Grade 6 §112.22

 

       a2.            Students identify components of the solar system including the sun,    

                         planets, moon, and asteroids.  By individual reasearch and

                         presentation; as well as viewing others' presentations, the student gains

                         an understanding of the various components within the solar system. 

       b5A.        Identify and describe the interactions of one or more systems within the

                         solar system.  Students discuss each component as it relates

                         and interacts with the rest of the solar system.

       b13A.      Identify the characteristics of parts of our solar system.  The factual

                         information gained through research and demonstrated by

                         presentations, allows the student to identify characteristics.

       b13B.      Describe space travel equipment and types of transportation.  These

                         concepts must be applied in order for the student to explain the

                         colonization process of their property.

 

Grade 7 §112.23

 

       b2D.        Give valid conclusions based upon communication skills.  Students

                        demonstrate this through the oral presentation and written work.

       b2E.        Use the computer to demonstrate information found from study.  The

                         PowerPoint presentation will be developed by using computer skills

                         and it will allow students to show the information they found.

 Subchapter B. Middle School  

 Grades 6-8 §126.12

       cE.         Use the appropriate technological terminology for the task involved. 

                       Students demonstrate proper wording asssociated with the PowerPoint

                       presentation process.

       c3B.       Demonstrate proper rules and knowledge in the classroom or lab        

                       while using the Internet.  Classwork in the labs will require the students

                       to show understanding and compliance with the rules.

       c6A.       Determine electronic information for accuracy and validity.  Students

                       must evaluate the information they gather during research.

       c6B.       Resolve informational conflict by researching and comparing data. 

                       Upon finding questionable material relating to their topic, students must

                       compare them for resolution.

       c6C.       Identify the source and relevancy of information.  A documentation of

                       used sources and resources is required.

       c7G.       Use two or more technological tools to demonstrate knowledge. 

                        Students must use the Internet and PowerPoint tools to complete this

                        lesson.

       c10D.     Effectively communicate skills using appropriate fonts, styles, graphics,

                        and page design.  Students exhibit these skills in both their PowerPoint

                        presentation and the written paper.
