In this lesson students will conduct research and complete an activity and a tri-fold board to help them differentiate how the sun, the tilt of the earth, the bodies of water, the winds, the shape of the land and natural events affect weather and climate.
You have learned that there are recognizable patterns in the natural world and among the sun, earth, and moon system. Do you ever wonder why is is much colder in some places then it is in others? Do you ever wonder why in Texas we hardly ever see snow? There are so many different weather patterns all over the world. How do some of these patterns affect the weather and the climate? How does the sun, the tilt of the earth, the bodies of water and the shape of the land affect the weather and the climate of a location?
You and your team will find the different factors that affect the weather and the climate and will be able to find the answers to these questions.
