The purpose of this WebQuest is to have students analyze the global distribution of Canada's major international agreements and organizations; to, in their own words, explain the mandate of selected international organizations; to evaluate their effectiveness in addressing global concerns; and to demonstrate knowledge of Canada's significant world contributions.
Introduction
__________________________________________________________________________
You and your group members are instructors preparing course materials for an English as a Second Language (ESL) / Citizenship class. Your ESL students must have background information on Canada's role in the world in order to pass their Citizenship test. To help them do so, as a group, you will research an international organization. You will then present your information in such a way that people new to Canada can understand (i.e. simplify the language and ideas as much as possible). In order to appeal to your audience, it is a good idea to focus your research on countries that your ESL students are from.
