This is a WebQuest that is geared toward advanced-intermediate ESL adult learners. The purpose of this project is to transmit aspects of culture, history, holidays and community activities embedded in the American culture. Learners will have the opportunity to practice and build on vocabulary skills, collaboration, reading,presentation and problem-solving skills.

Introduction

 

Everyone enjoys a great party-regardless of the occasion that is being celebrated. You may notice that varying across cultures, different holidays/occasions are celebrated in various styles. After all, culture does signify tradition, and that is what holidays are all about!

This WebQuest will help you gain a better understanding of the process that is needed to plan a special community activity. In order to do so, you will learn more about some of the holidays and special occasions embedded with the American culture as well as  how and when they are typically celebrated.

After completing this WebQuest, instead of just being able to attend a great party, you will be able to adequately and successfully prepare for one, behind the scences as:
