Task

You and your partner will work together to investigate the experiences and results of the explorers’ work, either as ethnographers, linguists, or paleontologists.  You will examine the objectives, methods, and tools of your scientific discipline.  You will use inquiry based problem solving to in your search the expedition journals for examples of what they saw, recorded, collected, and thought. 

Your task is to select one of the scientific fields of study.  You will identify the objectives, methods, and tools of your scientific discipline.  You will find an experience from the expedition journals that illustrates Lewis, Clark, or other expedition members collecting and analyzing scientific data in your chosen discipline of ethnography, linguistics, or paleontology.  Finally, you will prepare a presentation to share your findings with your classmates.
