In this lesson students will teach each other about literacy devices in poetry and find examples. Students will then compose their own poems using these devices.

Congratulations! You have been selected by the Chair of the Poetry Department to be the Poet in Residence. This means that you will have plenty of thinking time to compose your own poetry. But with great power comes great responsibility. You will also be responsible for making sure your students understand the literary devices that you so eloquently use in your own work. Click on task to read about the requirements of your new position.
