Teacher Introduction

This was written for an audience of 4-5th graders who are mostly English Language Learners.  Some have a lot of practice interacting with language, others have very little.

This webquest is intended to be done as a jigsaw, grouping kids of various ability levels so that by working cooperatively they can experience greater success than if they were to do this alone.

The other "built-in" covert strategy is the direction to teach what they learned to a younger, somewhat less-informed audience of first graders.  This is to build their confidence in acquiring new knowledge, being aware that there are always others who know less and will benefit from our sharing what we DO know and have recently learned.
