Teacher Process
QUEST #1: Who was Pythagoras?
In this part of the quest students are asked to review six different websites and gather biographical inforamtion on Pythagoras. They should take notes on 3X5 cards and use the scoring rubric provided in the student evlauation section of this web-quest to guide them on this portion of the web-quest. The time on the computer is about 2 days for research and note taking and then another 2 days for the final draft. A resonable timeline would be no more than two-weeks for this portion of the quest. I designed this portion for those who have limited computer access and to provide for computer time rotation. Students can be working on this portion while others are working on the other two parts of this quest.
QUEST #2: What is the Pythagorean Theroem?
In this part students need to download and print out the questionaire provided in the student evaluation section of this web-quest. They need to visit all of the websites and answer the questions on the questionaire. An answer key has been provided for this in the Teachers Resource section. It is called EXPLORE IT. This section is a little more involved and you should plan on providing a minimum of 3 workdays for proficient completion of this portion of the quest.
QUEST #3: Real world problems/ Solve it!
In this section students are asked to review real world situations in which the pythagorean theroem can be used to solve a problem.
