Conclusion

Our country was founded by the 13 colonies.  They are the founders of the United States of America.  Without their Declaration of Independence  from England we may not be the country we are today, land of liberty--home of the free.  It is important to recognize how the United States began.  This lesson was intended to teach students about where the first settlers came from, where they settled, the reasons for their colonization, and the hardships they had to face.
