Introduction
This webquest was developed by members of Team D in CURR 558. Our names are Laurie Sisson, Jeanette Miller and Robert Young. Learning Team D has decided to develop a Web Quest teaching unit on the Internet. We have chosen the topic “Butterflies”. It will be an inquiry-oriented project that will be used to assist students in learning and understanding content in this area. The focus will be on using the information rather than looking for it. It will be designed for fourth grade students and the students will use higher level thinking skills.
Our learning team will cover the following subtopics in regards to learning about
“Butterflies”:
Topic: Butterflies
I. Life stages
II. Body parts
III. Different Butterflies
IV. Symmetry
V. Difference(s) between moths and butterflies
We will incorporate the lessons with many other subjects including math, art, social studies, writing and reading. Teaching across the curriculum areas will enhance the implementation of this topic and provide a diversity of teaching styles for the benefit of all students.
