Students will plan a daily menu at fast food restaurants. They will calculate total calories, fat, saturated fat, sodium & fiber. They will calculate % of saturated fat. They will research obesity causes and consequences and then rewrite their menu to reflect the dietary guidelines. They will determine the calories saved by the healthier menu and the length of time it will take to lose 10 lbs. Teams will present their revised menu to their classmates.
Introduction
It's your birthday. You are allowed to plan breakfast, lunch, snacks and a dinner menu for your friends and family. All meals are to be ordered from a fast-food restaurant. Money is no object.
