Students will navigate through several anti-drug abuse website to learn about the dangers of drug and alcohol use. Additionally, students will create an anti-drug campaign book with reflective writings based on photo prompts.

Introduction

    The leading drugs used by teens today are; marijauna, heroin, cocaine, alcohol, ectasy, over-the-counter, methamphetamines, cigarettes, and inhalants.  Teens are using these drugs usually due to stress in one or more of the following areas:

    Drugs are everywhere.  Drugs can be as innocent as over-the-counter cold and flu pills to laxatives to serious as methamphetimines and heroin.  Students who experiment with any type of these drugs are likely to engage in other drugs if they enjoyed the initial high.  Many reasons have been given by teens as to why they partake in drug and/or alcohol consumption.  The reason why they take drugs and alcohol is not as important as how we can prevent teens from trying them for the first time.
