This WebQuest gives students in-depth knowledge of the Federal Reserve System and monetary policy.
Teacher Introduction
Welcome to the Federal Reserve System also known as The Fed. Many
people don’t realize the importance and power of the Federal Reserve.
It was created to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and
more stable monetary and financial system. The Fed plays an integral
role in the United States’ government and economy. Your group’s mission
is to determine our (the Fed’s) role in the government, money supply,
economic growth, and central banking.
This WebQuest is designed to give students an overview of the Federal Reserve System and monetary policy in the United States. It will help students to understand the Fed’s control of the money supply and the three tools they use to influence the supply. It will allow students to research the Federal Reserve website and learn about their duties and monetary policy.
