You will be working in groups of sixEach one of you will choose a main geographic region to explore  You will be in charge of locating various landforms in your region.

What states are in your region?  Make a list.  Use the provided worksheet or create your own with the same information.

 You will now begin researching your region by using the following questions as guidelines.  Use the worksheet (or create your own) to keep track of the information you find.  **A major landform usually runs through several states.

 What major bodies of water are in your region?  Rivers? Lakes?

Are there any mountains or mountainous areas in your region?

    What are they called?   What is the highest point?

Does your region contain any major valleys or plateaus?

Does you region border an ocean?

Does your region contain any peninsulas?

Draw a picture of your region on a piece of the provided posterboard.  Include the following:

Names of states and their capitals

Major Landforms such as mountains and rivers with labels

A legend  and map title

A compass

Any other information you feel is pertinent
