This webquest uses a scavenger hunt to research facts on different mathematicians. The student will then use the facts to conclude which they would like to be, a male or female mathematician.
Introduction
Who Thought Of That?
Have you ever wondered who thought up a certain math concept? Who was the person who decided to torture you with square roots, rational expressions, the function e, or calculus for the rest of your life? Was it your math teacher?
Which mathematician was it? This WebQuest will take a look at four female and four male mathematicians. You will learn about their life and decide which you would rather be, male or female. Which mathematician did you most respect?
There is no wrong answer. Hopefully it will answer the question
“Who thought of that and why?”
