Process
1. Travel Agent- The travel agent introduces the topic and mainly focuses on the summary portion of the booklet. He/she gives an overview of the topic including a few detailed facts. It is important to research all of the websites so that the information found is correct. The travel agent should write the summary of his/her findings on a word document.
2. The tour guide works with the travel agent finding specific details about the topic. For example, if the travel agent found that mummies were buried in pyramids, the tour guide should research how were they buried, where were they placed in the pyramid, how many were in the pyramid etc. After the tour guide has collected many specific details, he/she needs to organize it on a word document. The tour guide could either use numbers to highlight the details and facts or put it in paragraph form.
3. They photographer looks for only the best photographs on the topic. The photographer should read about each photograph and then decide on the best ones. Five photos should be chosen along with sentences describing the photographs. It is important that the photos are an accurate description of the topic.
As a group, you will be combining the summary, detailed facts, and photographs into a papyrus pamphlet!
Suggested ideas to look for and answer:
- Who, What, When, Where, Why and How
- Statistics and facts
- Major Events that took place
- Important issues or controversies concerning your topic
Also, discover new facts that are not in the textbooks at school. This makes the booklet much more interesting!
