This WebQuest is designed for second graders. It explores the basics (i.e., habitat, types, diet, and predators) of penguins.
Teacher Introduction
With such popular movies as March of the Penguins and Happy Feet, this generation of children is growing up in love with the black and white birds. Although those movies can be educational and entertaining, it is my belief that your students will be more richly educated and entertained by the hands-on activities I have created. My WebQuest draws on the fame of films to entice students into deepening their knowledge about penguins' habitats, the variety of penguin species, their diet, and also their predators and threats. Kids will enjoy the graphics and bright colors; you will enjoy the organization and step-by-step procedures. I invite you to use my WebQuest to spread the love and knowledge of the plucky penguin to your classroom!
