Teacher Process
This WebQuest is a many-stepped process. I would recommend breaking it up into chunks, perhaps Steps 1 and 2 for one lesson, Step 3 for another, Steps 4-6 for a third lesson, and conclude with Step 7. Students could work on it at different times during the day or even over a period of three days. If computer availability is a problem, you might try allowing one group ("rookery") work at a time while the other students work on something else; the WebQuest could be one center or station in a series.
Another suggestion I have is for the end of the WebQuest, when students share their posters. You (or someone else) could dress up as Adelie Rockhopper of Emperor Productions. This can be done lavishly with a full costume or simply by placing sunglasses on your face. Then students would feel as if they are actually presenting to Ms. Rockhopper. You could also select the best poster and declare that one as going with you to Hollywood.
