Task

Your task is to help Francesc Balaguer, the character in by land and by sea, to set up a new cotton factory in Poblenou, Barcelona, introducing some of the new textile machines designed at the end of the 19th century but also improving working conditions for his labourers.  Francesc produces “Indianes”,  Indian calico patterns which in the 18^th century grew very popular in Europe . The cotton comes from America and then goes to another factory to be transformed into cloth. The indianes are made in another factory near Poblenou . Francesc is thinking about joining the two factories in one and introducing the revolutionary British inventions working with steam. Before that, he wants to know how these factories work.  Once you have done you research on your character, you will all have to agree on the best way to introduce these changes in Francesc’s factory.
