This website provides activities for students dealing with the life cycle of a butterfly. The students will identify and organize the different stages of the cycle.
Introduction
Today, we are going to look at and identify the different stages of a butterfly. Did you know that a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly? Before we begin with the lesson, first you need to know the names of the different stages. The first stage is the egg, which is then followed by the larva, or caterpillar stage. The fourth stage is the pupa stage, or chrysalis stage. The final stage is the adult, or butterfly stage. As we identify and discuss the different stages, pictures and examples will be provided.
