This website will help your students better understand the basic operations of mathematics using number lines. They will do five problems in each operation and watch how the computer represents it on the numberline. They will then make their own problem on a sheet of paper for each operation and label it as addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. They must show the numberline, solution, as well as the problem. This should take 10-15 minutes.
Problems should look like this:
Once they have completed that, they will go to the following site.

They will play in addition, multiplication, and division. This is an opportunity to practice their operation skills. They will not need to record anything. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
After they've played Matho, they will go to the following website:
http://www.oswego.org/ocsd-web/games/Mathmagician/maths1.html
Once there, they will need to type their first name only in the box. They will select "All Operations" and take the test. This test takes 5 minutes. When they have finished, they will record their scores and answer the following questions:
Which operations were easy for you to do?
Which operations were hard for you to do?
Was it easy or hard for you to distinguish between the operations?
This should take another 5 minutes and then they will need to turn their piece of paper in to you.
