Process
1. First, get a general background in the mythology of your region by looking over the following websites (pick only the websites for your region). Remember that you specifially want to find information regarding creation myths, flood stories, hero quests, gods and godesses, and the origin of things in nature.
- Egyptian mythology

- Indian mythology

- Mayan mythology

- Celtic mythology

- Chinese mythology

- Northwestern Native American mythology

- Igbo mythology

2. Next, find 3 other reliable websites to use in your research. Check this link to remember how to verify a website.
3. Find at least one article from the online Encyclopedia database, Grolier. Please see Mrs. Bosler or I to get the log in information.
4. Remember that web pages cannot replace the wealth of knowledge that is inside library books. Do not forget to use those sources.
5.. Decide how you will tailor the lesson for this learner group. How will you deal with the limitations of their vocabulary and previous experience? Here are some ideas for you to consider:
- Provide a glossary
- Make a game of learning unfamiliar words.
- Come up with a metaphor that relates the new information to something they might be familiar with.
- Figure out ways to make ideas more concrete by drawing them or illustrating them with models
- Think about ways to make the content more interesting by having students take on roles and acting something out.
Here are some websites for you to look for ideas:
8. On the day of the lesson, you must turn in five test questions. These question need to be about things that you expect your students to learn about during your lesson. Your questions should be level 2 and level 3 questions.
