The computer programs of Kid Pic and Kidspiration are used for this webquest. Kid Pic is used for the final typing process and illustration. Kidspiration is used for the story mapping and writing process.
After reading the story of Charlie the caterpillar, the template from Kidspiration is given to the children in the classroom. The children place their ideas for their story on the template. The next step is to use the computer lab to type in their responses.
Kidspiration has a section called writing which help to set up their storyboard for their story. The children need to keep in mind to make sure their story flows as they create their story. This procedure is again completed in the classroom before the next visit to the computer lab.
Kid Pic is a easy program for them to use to type their story and create their illustration for their story.
