Teacher Process

In order to ensure your success, and the success of all of your students in this webquest, you will want to allow all students to have access to a computer for all steps.  The process for this webquest is the following:

Process 1:
·         Split students into groups of three.
·         Students will first independently explore a few websites about South America to decide on the country they will present in this project. (Brief-10 minutes)
·         Group members will then join together to compare notes and make a final decision on the country they would like to visit in their presentation.
·         Students will then work independently to explore the specific country they have chosen, and they will choose a few different locations they would like to visit within that country. (20 minutes)
·         At the end of this step, students will be asked to print a piece of paper that will ask them to write the country and the places they will visit in that country to turn in to you.  They will again work with their group members to complete this paper before being allowed to move on to step 2.

Process 2:
·         In the first part of this step, students will take on an independent role to complete a specific task.  They will be taking on the role of travel coordinator, accommodations manager, or activity planner.  They will need to print a worksheet to complete for this task.  You must approve their completion of this worksheet before they can move on. (40-45 minutes)
·         As a group, students will compare notes about what they have done during the first part of step 2, as this information will be vital to keep all travelers on the same page. (10 minutes)
·         Students will then work independently to do final research on the two travel destinations they will write about from the original list provided from their group. They will need to print out a page to complete this part as well.  In this step, they will be locating pictures, and writing the narrations that will accompany these pictures in the final presentation. (45-60 minutes)

Process 3:
·         Students will work both independently and cooperatively to put together the final presentation, either in book or powerpoint format. (40 minutes)
·         At the end of this process, time should be arranged for final presentations as a class. (approx. 50 minutes)
