Process
1.) Students will research five topics. Students will minimize there research down to these targeted areas:
- Sports U.S. and or Worldwide famous- options-(basketball, football, soccer, tennis and track/field).
- Questions to be answered in project for Sports:
- Briefly state the history of the sport. (three to four sentences)
- State whether sport is famous in U.S. and/or any other countries and why.
- Explains whether gender plays an important role in the sport.
- Explain what is currently happening in that particular sport today. (2005-2007)
- Explain your interest in that sport.
- Questions to be answered in project for Sports:
- U.S. Government
- Questions to be answered in project for U.S. Government:
- Find an current article on the internet on President Bush views on the war in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
- Find an a current article on Congresswomen Nancy Pelosi views on the war in Iraq and/or Afghanistan.
- Current issue in debate at the U.S. senate or House.
- Questions to be answered in project for U.S. Government:
- Local Government
- Reseach an current event or news topic in your state, city and local community.
- Social Change and Events
- You have the option to choose one of three reseach topics:
- Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans
- F.C.A.T (Against or For)
- Educational Technology
- You have the option to choose one of three reseach topics:
- A general Topic or Event that interest you. Topic or event must be suitable for educational purposes.
2.) After students have done their research on these topics; they will hand write first, a rough draft of information gathered. The hand written paper will be written a number of times to turn in. This will be graded on no grammatical mistakes or errors and the require materials that are needed. After the written paper has passed the graded inspection students will be able to typed their final draft. In this typed final draft students will need to include pictures and graphics to follow topics and events. Use these search engines. If students search for information on search engine other than the ones that are listed below make sure those serach engines are unbias and educationally correct.
Search Engines
After students have done the written assignment, they will produce a PowerPoint Presentation choosing the three out of five topics or events they have research. This includes the topics or events that interest them. Students will not be allowed to read off the PowerPoint. Students will need to just address key topic or events on slides and elaborate those topics and events on notecards or sheets of paper. Students can use no more than eight slides. One introduction slide, two slides for each topics or events and one reference slides at the end. Students will be graded on graphics, pictures and the Presenation itself. Hint: (Color will enhance the presentation and also the grade). Make sure the PowerPoint Presentation is readable, interesting and fun.
