You will create a set of 9 tiles using each of the nine color schemes. They are:
Complementary - opposite colors
Analogous - colors that are adjacent on the color wheel
Triadic- three equidistant colors apart on the color wheel
Monochromatic - varying shades of a single hue
Tetradic - four or more equidistant colors on the color wheel
Diadac - two colors apart on the color wheel
Warm - hues that are mixtures of reds and yellows
Cool - hues that are mixtures of blues and greens
Neutral - hues that have black or white mixes, often earth tones
While exploring these color schemes you will create your own origionl design and use these compositional elements. They are:
Shape
Color
Line
Symmetry
Pattern
Value
Harmony
Balance
Though some of these compositional elements will be repeated in each of the tiles, they should all be present within the set of nine.
