Miss Cevering's Gallery is a webquest that challenges participants to learn the elements of art, find art works that are the best examples of them, and arrange them in an exhibit that will not only impress but educate everyone who goes through it.
Teacher Introduction
This webquest is designed for any high school (grades 9-12) art student or students in other classes where questions about the 'why' and 'how' of art come up. For example, a discussion of staccato in a musical composition or meter in poetry may call for a comparison and exploration into the elements and principles of art.
Students in a beginning Art 1 class will probably be confronted with the elements and principles of art in a 'theory first' approach. Miss Clevering's Gallery is an attempt to make that learning process a fun and creative endeavor.
