This webquest will help students understand what it was like during the eruption of Mt St Helens. Through on-line research they will learn where Mt St Helens is located and what it was like before, during and after the eruption.
Introduction
You are going on an adventure to visit the Gifford Pinchot National Forest located in the state of Washington. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is home to Mt. St. Helens. The time is May 16, 1980 two days before the eruption of Mt. St Helens. You will be assigned a role and keep a journal of your adventure. Not everyone will be visiting the forest some of you will actually take on the role as a resident or someone who lives and works near the mountain. Prepare yourself for an interesting adventure as you learn what is was like during the time that Mt St Helens erupted.
