Task
The British colonies have been growing and becoming prosperous and the colonists have become used to running their own lives. Britain has begun to seem very far away. At the same time, officials in Britain still expect the colonies to obey them and earn money for Britain. Tensions begin to rise on both sides as Britain imposes new taxes but the colonists find new ways to challenge them.
Your Task
You are a witness to one of the events leading up to the Revolutionary War. You must choose a side to defend and present this event through the eyes of a Patriot or Loyalist. After gathering together your account of the event, you will present your findings in a court of law where you will be questioned thoroughly about your beliefs. After each side presents its case on the event, the jury (your colonial classmates) will decide, based upon your argument, if King George was actually responsible for this event.
