An American tourist has recently taken a photograph of a Turkish woman in Izmir without a head scarf on while in a public building.  This picture has been published in several newspapers and is now on Aljazeera television. The Turkish woman is very upset by this. She is a very devout Muslim, and she is wrestling with the practice of wearing head coverings in public places, which is currently prohibited by law.
