Introduction

Welcome to the American Civil War!  With the help of your teacher's time machine you have traveled back in time and landed in the year 1861.  Your country is being torn apart because of disagreements among the citizens.  As you explore the next five war filled years you will have the opportunity to tell your opinion of the leaders and events through writing three diary entries.   These entries will be used later to help historians understand what the people who lived during the war thought about the people and events of the war.
