Teacher Process

I expect this WebQuest to take approximately 7 days. I was planning on having students do the website explorations for homework independently the night after we cover the material in class. This would help to immediately reinforce and enhance student learning, and it would break up the material into small chunks so that students would not be overwhelmed at the end.

However, there are many opportunities for adjustment and adaptations. For example, if not every student has access to the Internet at home, teachers could schedule separate lab visits periodically throughout the unit during class time. The teacher could have students cover more than one topic during the lab visit. This way, the students could spend larger chunks of time less often to complete the WebQuest. Also, if computers were hard to reserve, the teacher could print out a handout for the 3rd part of the process. Students could still complete their work even if the computer wasn't available to them during the third phase.
