Teacher Process

I expect this web quest to take approximately three days: one day for exploration, one day for writing, and one day for creating a group collage. This could be adjusted based on class time and homework time: the students could write their rationales and/or create the collage in class. While I would have my students orally present the collage, this is not an essential element to the project, depending on your goals. This webquest could even be used as an exploratory home work assignment to elicit questions about American freedoms on the home front during World War II if you plan to integrate part of this content into another lesson (for example, Japanese internment camps).

In terms of assigning groups and roles, the Italian-American immigration links are less specific and require more student initiative and a higher level of information literacy than do the others.

Additionally, I have provided the FBI files as a way for students who are more advanced to search in depth and for others to view it so that they can use this source in the future. You could decide on specific FBI files and route students there, as well.
