Process

1. You will be assigned to a team of 4 students.

2. Throughout your task, each member of the team must play the following 4 roles at least once:

         Role 1:  Leader

The Leader is responsible for making sure the Team is on-task. You will

keep the Virginia Standards in front of you to remind the group what

information you are trying to cover in the test questions your team is

                creating.

        Role 2: Navigator

The Navigator is the individual using the computer to navigate through

the WebQuest and other Internet Sources.  You will be researching

other Departments of Education to find sample test questions similar to

the Virginia Algebra I Standards assigned to your Team.

        Role 3:  Creator

The Creator is responsible for creating the test questions that go along

with the Virginia Algebra I Standards that were assigned to your Team.

You will use the results of the Navigator’s research to write your own

test questions. The questions that you write should cover your

Team’s assigned Standards and should be similar to the sample questions

from the Department of Education of other states.

         Role 4:  Recorder

The Recorder is the individual who will write up the final draft to be

submitted to your teacher of the multiple choice test questions that your

               team has created.

3. Each Team will be assigned specific Algebra I Standards.

View the Virginia Algebra I Standards

                    Team 1:   A.1   - A.4

                    Team 2:   A.5   - A.8

                    Team 3:   A.9   - A.12

                    Team 4:   A.13 - A.15

                    Team 5:   A.16 - A.18

4. It is up to your Team how you will divide the Standards amongst yourselves.

However, you MUST COVER ALL OF THE STANDARDS ASSIGNED TO

    YOUR TEAM.

5. Focus on only ONE Standard at a time

6. Once you know which Standard you are researching, navigate through the different

Departments of Education to get ideas for the test items you are creating.

            New York                                            Massachusetts

            Michigan                                               Washington

            Colorado                                               California

            Oregon                                                  South Carolina

             Florida                                                  Tennessee

            Arizona                                                Oklahoma

            Texas

7. You must use at least 5 different states as references for the test questions you are creating.

  8.  Write your test questions!

9. Note: You MAY NOT copy test questions! You can only use the sample test questions as a reference.

10. You must create 3 test questions for every Standard that you have been assigned. For example, if you are assigned A.1-A.4, you should turn-in a total of 12 questions: 3 questions for A.1, 3 questions for A.2, 3 questions for A.3, 3 questions for A.4.

11. Each test question that you create should be written in the following format:

        1. (SOL, Referenced State, Creator)

Write out your test question here.

            A. …

            B. …

            C. …

            D. …

    Example:
