Research!
First you will be responsible for researching your famous historical figure. This research will not only be applied in your daily journal, but in your group presentation. The following are some good places to look for information on your famous figure, but should not be the only places you look for information. Be sure to have a firm understanding of what your family life was like, your place in society, your character traits and anything else you may find interesting.

Now that you have an understanding of who you are, you will be responsible for researching one of 4 areas of Elizabethan Society and pooling this information to create a powerpoint presentation with your group. The four areas to be researched follow, along with helpful links for you.

Create!
Now as a group you will create a powerpoint presentation of the information you found on the different aspects of Elizabethan England. Requirements for the powerpoint slide show:
1. You must have pictures of the people and aspects of society.
2. Individually you must contribute a depth of information in order to thoroughly explain the aspect of society assigned to you. (About 3 minutes worth)
3. You must remain in character as you present, but do not do so in a distracting manner.
Warning: DO NOT BE BORING! Don’t read from the slides you have created. Remember a powerpoint presentation should not be slides full of text, but something to aide in a presentation.
You will present to the class and be graded on the information contained in the presentation and the manner of presenting. You are also responsible for being a courteous audience member.

Be a Shakespearian Actor!
Now it is your job to assume the role of an actor in Elizabethan theatre. Using all of the information you discovered about society in 16th century England, especially that which pertains to the theatres, you will select and perform a scene from a Shakespeare play of your choice. The requirements are as follows:
1. You must be true to the time period.
2. Each group member must have at least 50 lines memorized. (In order to make sure all 4 group members have this many lines, it is acceptable to cut scenes and arrange them to work for this project.)
3. There must be blocking, or movement, don’t just recite the lines.
4. The use of costumes and creative backgrounds will result in extra credit.
You will not be graded on your acting skills as much as your ability to portray the time period through the scene. So make it fun!
